I'm trying to find one of the thick Billet Aluminum gas caps for my waverunner. I'm not looking for the Riva one (sorry guys), but the Yamaha one with the tuning fork in the center. Gofastguru sold his ski without yanking his off of it for me. I'd love to find a black one, but haven't seen one of those, so a silver one will probably have to do. Parker Yamaha has a blue one that I love, but won't go with my paint. Anyone have one for sale or know where I can get one? If so, email me at smittyrn@gmail.com Thanks.

Hey Smitty,
Your best bet then is to by either one riva or yamaha. The anodized plating comes right off with a scotchbrite pad. All you have to do is rub with a little metal polish and you have a nice shiny silver one. I have the blue ones clear coated because the plating comes off so easily. I had the block off plate for the fuel valve shined up with some polish in a matter of minutes.

Mark, I think I'm gonna get the silver on like that, it will go better with my new paint job. Plus, $50 shipping is kinda steep unless a Hooters girl delivers it.

Just go to any local Yamaha dealer. I ordered mine from a dealer that doesn't even sell watercraft, just bikes and ATV's. Doesn't matter. They had it for me in a week. Tell them you want part number: MAR-BLTFU-EL-CP
Done deal, plus there's no shipping when you do it that way.

That is $50 INCLUDING SHIPPING... tough crowd around here. Big Grin

edit: Smitty, personally, I think your new paint job on your ski looks best with that black cap. I can't imagine the blue one or the silver one being on there.

Yes sir, that's for the silver one. What does your paint scheme look like? Is there any way we can see pics?

I assume this is his boat from the other post on here.

...and I'd go with some black bars too...unless you can find some powdercoated ones to match that paint!

OK, Hydrotoys posted the link to my pics above....

Mark, I'm wanting to go with some aftermarket bars.. black, of course.... but not sure what to look for. There are lots of options as to angle and other measurments, plus what do i do about the lower boot? is there one? I need some pics of other skis.

Lower boot... sorry, you lost me on that one.

About the bars... go to a dirt motorcycle shop and put some of these bars in your hands... You will probably find the best ones for this particular application are ATV related, with a larger middle rise.

Depending on your height and reach, the longer the bar, the more control you will feel.

All of the fat bar setups (and they make them with atv bends too) are pretty sweet looking. Also, I like the fact that they do NOT have a crossbar. Instead just the lower pad.

The base of the steering might be an eyesore. You could consider going with the UMI, or possible removing yours and having it polished. Hey, you could take it, and have it powdercoated black as well!

ps- I am using a Honda High Bend 32" Pro-Taper fat bar on my GPR. Here is a sideshot, along with the adjustment. The adjustment can be just as crucial as the bar. JetskinJoe showed me how setting the bar forward can change the way you actually ride the ski too. Very cool stuff, if you play around with for a while.

I use UMI and R&D Steering (one on each boat) but have Azonic CR HI bend on each.

But I like the padded crossbar! A great place to strap a Foretex GPS!

Smitty,

After looking at your pics, I think the silver cap would look fine. It would add a little bit of bling to the ski. By the way, the paint job looks great.
