SPONSONS- WR500
What is a simular ski to a 89 WR500 that has sponsons still available? Want to eventually try these to see if they will improve the tracking and handling. If not available, how about some recomendations on a size to use ,length ,width, and setting depth. I have the poly. to make these up, if needed. THANKS

WR-- I bought a skeg ,made especially for this ski, yes it slowed it down a little , but the way it turned was fantastic, almost too much, also when I was loading it on the trailer from the water, going slow at idle, it had a cool steering effect .This device mounts to the end of the nozzle and to the bolt under the nozzle that the nozzle pivots on, it really worked great,it keeps it straight on speed runs, and is also great when pulling tubes or wakeboards,......I think I still have it, it is uhhhhhhhhh.......80's ...bright green......dont laugh...............

BRIGHT GREEN? Eek
Hope this was not some old kawasuc'i GREEN stuff you used. Roll Eyes .LOL. I'd have had more faith in some old yama yellow! , Razz
Sounds as tho it worked just like a an inboard shaft drive prop unit.

gee, wr500 after you worked so hard to get that extra 0.001 mph now your are willing to throw it away to get better handling? Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin anyway , now that you mentioned it , i think that a pair of riva gpr sponsons could work fine as universal ones, set them as far back as possible and experiment with the height ,angle etc.. while you're at it perhanp you would consider a pump nozzle wedge to help trim the craft up. personally i feel the front is nose heavy and if you could trim it up a bit you may get another 0.001 mph!
